The Rotary Club of LaPlace (RCOL) congratulates Davente Lewis, an East St. John High School (ESJHS) Senior and Interact Club Member, on being selected by the RCOL Scholarship Committee to receive the "2022- 2023 Interact for Your Success Scholarship". Pictured are Davente Lewis and Rotary International (RI) District 6840 Assistant Governor, Gordon Taylor. The RI District 6840 Grant Committee funded $175.00 with a district grant from the Rotary Foundation. The Rotary Club of LaPlace funded $825.00 for a total of $1,000.00. Davente Lewis was selected to receive the scholarship from seven applicants based on his "Service Above Self" in his senior year in the ESJHS Interact Club, community, church, and school. Davente will attend Louisian State University in Baton Rouge in the 2023 Fall Semester and major in Psychology.
